This is a very informative book! My husband was recently diagnosed with diabetes and what a shock! I had no idea how to cook differently so my husband would be happy with a restricted diet! This book is very informative and helps a newly diagnosed person understand how to look at food differently. It gives you the recipes helps you make a meal plan and what you need to get from the market to make the food for a week at a time! This has really helped me! I love the book and I can’t wait to start the meal planning and make the proper foods my husband can enjoy and not feel like his meals are restricted!
I'm not diabetic, but I am aware that eating with a balance of protein, carbs and fat is good for any body, and diabetic cookbooks tend to keep that in mind with their recipes. I've gotten a bit less ambitious with cooking than I was in my 20's, and prefer to prepare quick, simple meals that still taste good, and this cookbook delivers just that.It has chapters on: Breakfast (peach pancakes, pumpkin-peanut muffins, white bean-oat waffles, etc.)Meal-Size Salads (meatless taco salad, lentil apple salad, curried chicken salad, etc.)Soups & Stews (white bean soup, african peanut stew, kickin' chili, etc.)Comfort Classics (mock mac & cheese, eggplant lasagna, lazy turkey potpie, etc.)Vegetarian Entrees (stuffed Acorn Squash, gingered tofu & greens, Seitan curry, etc.)Chicken & Fish entrees (lemon-herb chicken, blackened pollock, fish tacos, etc.)Pork & Beef entrees ( chinese spareribs, sage-parmesan pork chops, beef stew, etc.)Sides & Staples (cauliflower mashed potatoes, broccoli with pine nuts, tofu-cilantro sauce, etc.)As you can see, the recipes are interesting and varied and I'm looking forward to trying more of the delicious and nutritionally balanced meals.
I've recently had to make a lot of changes to my diet due to medical issues. I'm not diabetic, but the diet I need to follow is very close to the diet someone who is diabetic should be following, so I decided to give this book a try. While it's portioned for two people I double the recipes as there are three of us and my husband eats a lot.It's really important to me that I be able to provide meals that meet my medical needs, but still taste good for my family. There are 126 recipes in this book and I would say I can easily make half of these for my family without feeling like I am sacrificing taste. My absolutely favorite recipes are the comfort classics. They're are a lot of great recipes that taste delicious, and just put a healthy spin on some of our favorite family recipes.Some of the recipes are a little much for me, not really my type of food, but there are more than enough recipes to make this book worth it for me. There are also some delicious desserts that I'm really looking forward to trying out.I received this book for free in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.
The portions are actually quite generous here, and the use of lots of different spices make the recipes very tasty and not so monotonous. I just enjoyed sitting down and reading through at first, then went back and "bookmarked" (Kindle Gal here....) the ones I want to use first. My faves are the "packet meals" and all the yummy roasted veggie recipes. I have a veggie-hater in my house. ("I don't eat green food!!") But we're both gobbling up the roasted veggies from this book. I highly recommend it.
This book isn't just a cookbook, it's also a guidebook on how to manage diabetes through diet. I don't currently have diabetes, but I'm prediabetic, and so I'm concerned with how I can change my diet to reduce my chances of becoming diabetic while also improving my overall health. The recipes in the book aren't too committed, and since they're "for two" they are great for singles and couples, but most are easily doubled for families. But what I really liked were the lists. For example, the "Top 10 Ingredients" to have on hand is a super handy tool, because what I really need from my cookbooks is something that will make shopping and cooking easier, especially when it's new. So not only does this book have recipes that help you manage diabetes with diet, but it also helps you to always be prepared to make a diabetic-friendly meal even if you aren't following a recipe, which is much more useful in all honesty. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I'm excited to keep trying the recipes and discover more gems in the book. I received this book for review.
I loved this Diabetic Cookbook for two. I found it very informative especially for someone who has just found out they have diabetes. Whether you are type 1 diabetic or type 2 diabetic one of the major changes you will have to do is change the way you eat. Many people think that because you have diabetes you have to stop eating good, that is not the case. This book has many delicious recipes that will leave you feeling full and not feeling like you have to eat anything that tastes disgusting.I have several family members who are diabetic and picky children so getting dinner that everyone could enjoy could sometimes be quite tricky. One of my favorite meals in this book that my children liked as well as my diabetic family members was the Chicken Parmesan. The prep time only takes 30 minutes and the cook time was about an hour which was perfect for my busy schedule. Another great recipe to check out is the Lemon-Herb chicken. The lemon-herb chicken was also another winning meal in my house. The kids had no idea that they were eating a healthy meal and my aunt and uncle were able to enjoy the meal without having to substitute any of the meal or have to go and make their own meal. The conversion table at the back of the book is very helpful too. I was provided this book for review purposes.

I am 85 years old and sent this to my now 6 year old granddaughter. My son sent me a video of her readingthe last poem in the book which I memorized long ago. I would never have believed that this could ever bepossible, but am grateful to everyone who helped to make it happen. Thank you.
This is a lovely keepsake-quality book with all the illustrations those of previous generations remember with affection. I was disappointed, however, to find these "complete tales" did not include the teddy bear poems from Milne's "When We Were Very Young", my own introduction to Pooh over 80 years ago.
I bought this sweet book for myself, because I am simply smitten with the gentleness and kindness that is so commonly illustrated in its pages. I know it is supposed to be for children, but there is plenty for adults to learn, if they care to. I love this book!
It is a great story and book for children. Unfortunately the book presented for sale is not what you receive. The book for sale is a special addition that is printed in the USA. The one you receive is not the special addition and it is printed in China. The ad and preview for this book is misleading.
Is not as shown in pictures, what I receive is in black and white it doesn’t have images in Color, so not as shown in the “look inside part†be careful if you are looking for a nice book with colored images, this will disappoint you :(
Like pretty much everyone else in the world I'd heard of WINNIE-THE-POOH. I'd even seen a lot of the TV shows and movies (a friend of mine actually wrote some of the TV shows for Disney). But it wasn't until I watched GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN that I became interested in reading the books. I am so very glad I did.I've only read the first one so far, and, as expected, it is a wonderful children's story; but what I didn't realize was how uniquely well-written it is. Admittedly the opening caught me off-guard and I had to re-read it twice to understand the point-of-view, but once I realized what Mr. Milne was doing, I loved it.Yes, the storytelling is simplistic. Mr. Milne is obviously writing for a very young audience. This makes his style entirely appropriate, plus his ability to tell his story from the standpoint of a child is amazing. But it is his characters that make WINNIE work most of all. They are brilliantly childlike and likable.Kudos, Mr. Milne. WINNIE-THE-POOH is a wonderful accomplishment, and deserves all of its accolades. I have no doubt it will still be around in another hundred years.
Book came quickly despite the crazy weather. I purchased this for my 3yo nephew knowing that I read and loved the stories when I was small. I hope that he finds the stories as entrancing as I did. The book is beautiful, and has the updated dust cover art shown on the main image. Pages are heavyweight and have high quality printing and the hard cover came unblemished and undamaged from shipping. Pooh is embossed in gold on the light blue cover. Will buy again once my other nephew is a little older.
When I went away to college many years ago, my mother loaned my "Winnie-the-Pooh"—received on my fifth birthday—to a young co-worker to read to her children. It was never returned. I have been mourning ever since! The fact that this book had everything the original had, except the hardback cover, made it irresistible. I bought it! It did not disappoint. I saw the same dear pictures of the same beloved Pooh in the well-remembered interesting situations with his unique take on matters and his same friends and his companion, Christopher Robin. The book now has joined its mate, "The House at Pooh Corner." My bookcase is no longer missing something. Get this book and read it to your children or give it to them to read, as my mother did me. It cannot be replaced by the Disney Pooh. That Pooh is a whole different animal...trust me. Oh, and lend it to NO ONE. Get them one of their own!

Being raised in an alcoholic home I find that the daily readings of Courage to Change are much more suitable for my situation as compared to One Day at a Time in Al-Anon (commonly referred to as ODAT).From what I remember, the focus of ODAT seemed to be dealing with active alcoholism. In contrast, CTC focus on the enduring effects of living with alcoholism over many years, such as: low self-esteem, lack of confidence, confusion, doubt, insecurity, all or none thinking (black or white thinking), control and trust.I find the readings are very helpful in inspiring: thoughtful reflection, encouragement, challenge, love and acceptance, and positivity to assist me in my recovery.I would recommend this daily reader to adult-children of alcoholics or anyone raised in an alcoholic home. Though I can't speak from experience, a person living with active alcoholism may find more comfort in ODAT.
LOVE THIS BOOK. For those of you who attend al-anon this is a great conversation starter. Gives you a page to read for each day of the year. I enjoy reading it in the mornings before getting up as it starts my day off right. Also really like how it has the index in the back which consists of different feelings or emotions. For example, if you're feeling anxious you can flip to the back and it'll show all the page numbers that deal with feeling anxious. Always makes me feel better!

That is always how I have gone through life and I consider myself a super tough chick. That being said i have to say that this book was a true livesaver. It was given to me as a gift from a good friend who knew I needed it. I was dealing with extreme alcoholism in a family member and my be though and get through your problems attitude it what I expected for them as well as myself. Well that did not work and I was having a really hard time understanding hoe they could not wake up and stop drinking and not get their life together. This book had simple passages that I would read every day. It would help me find the strength to deal with my emotions, it helped me see things from a new perspective and it helped me to realive that I most certainly am not alone when dealing with this issue. When I did not want to talk about it I would go to the book and find some words that would help me along. I ended up getting few books for others and they all echoed the same kinds of sentiments....it helped them in so many different ways and it ended up bringing every one closer. I should also say that when I needed this book I was living in a remote area of CO and there was no place to go to AL ANON meetings. So it become a meeting for me in a sense and it also helped me realize there were people around me that I could rely on lean on and trust. For such a short book it is absolutely packed with words of wisdom inspiration and healing. I even find myself reading the same quotes over and over again and even found that I have favorite quotes that I purposefully go back to for daily help. I should also say that this book is useful in situations that have nothing to do with substance abuse.
This book is a gem. Not just for those with alcoholic family members. Can be applied to life and relationships in general. It is one of the first books I recommend to someone working 12 steps of any kind. And it is a go-to book for me on almost a daily basis. Has helped me keep perspective and be alert to unhealthy thoughts and behaviors that are so common to human life -- fear, control, blame, etc.
Although written for those in Al-Anon, it is fantastic for anyone taking their first step into alcohol recovery, too. I have had my well worn copy for years and have purchased many of these to give as gifts. The recipients have always told me that it helped them tremendously!
This is my favorite daily devotional style book of all time. It's a must have for anyone in recovery from any type of dysfunctional behavior.

Good basic beginners book. Not bad and easy read. Not much new for an experienced beekeeper but covers basics well.
If your looking for a quick overview of beekeeping to find out if it's something you might be interested in, it's worth the read. However, it is severely lacking in detail and leaves you with more questions than answers. There are a number of spelling and grammatical errors as well.
A great source for beginner beekeeping info. Very nice read with little fluff and useful tips. I definitely enjoyed it. I am going to build my first hive soon so this read helped!

I am not a beekeeper but am interested in becoming one. This book was a good introduction and it has good information. I think it could be made better by being more comprehensive. From the research I've read, there are many different ways to do various things but this book generally gives one way to do something and makes it appear like that is the only way. (One type of hive, one way to extract honey etc.)

HIGHLY RECOMMEND as a gift for a significant other that wants to start beekeeping, maybe you'll get lucky and they'll change their mind like mine did!Honestly, it's a good book, I looked through it and it seemed to have good, solid information for those that really do want to start beekeeping. I'd turn to it myself for guidance should the beekeeping discussion come back around and not go in my favor this time.

I have used other ICD-10 code books from different companies, but I found this one to be the best. It is color coded and has in text pictures to help aide with the coding process. I also like that chapter guidelines can be found at the beginning of each chapter not just at the beginning of the book.

About the Author
Travis Dandro was born in 1974 in Leicester, Massachusetts. He started publishing his first comic strip, Twerp, in the local newspaper when he was thirteen, earning $15 a week.
