About the Author
Marcus Pfister was born in Bern, Switzerland. After studying at the Art School of Bern, he apprenticed as a graphic designer and worked in an advertising agency before becoming self-employed in 1984. His debut picture book, The Sleepy Owl, was published by NorthSouth in 1986, but his big breakthrough came six years later with The Rainbow Fish. Today, Marcus has illustrated over fifty books that have been translated into more than fifty languages and received countless international awards. Not the full book, no sparkly scales, dont waste your money.
like it, I bought it as a replacement for another one, however, the scales are not as shiny (used to be like the hologram type material) as the other one that I had, which was a gift. Nevertheless, it was very well priced and works in the bath.
This was for my granddaughter's First Birthday. My sons both had soft books as babies as a way to get them into reading early. Just like my mom did for all 5 of her kids. She raised 5 bookworms, and I got to share the love of reading with two more...and counting.
The pages aren't "sparkly" like in the normal book. I have seen other versions of this bath book with sparkly fins that appear to be a little bigger with an extra page. Not good quality.
Meh not as clear and crisp illustrations as I thought this would be... And the sparkle is not very bright... It's not worth the buy if you ask me.... dissapointed.
1 yr old nephew LOVED this book that I included with other bath toys and bathrobe. Vibrant colors with visual interest, and nice squishy texture for a toddler to play with in the bath.
The book is very soft - no sharp edges and perfect for teething. But I purchased the book because I wanted the fish scales to shimmer . The baby loves shiny sparkly things and that's what the story is all about. However, the fish scales were not shiny, shimmery, or sparkly. I guess you have to buy the hardbound paper version to get that look. I wish they'd let me know that in the description. Very disappointed. :(
The art is not too good. The “message†of giving away all of one’s personal belongings is kind of overly preachy and ridiculous. My toddler wasn’t interested either, prefering to play with plastic cups. But at least it’s waterproof.
